Metro, September 04, 2023 – Universitas Muhammadiyah (UM) Metro held a ceremonial welcome for the arrival of 49 participants in the 3rd Merdeka Student Exchange (PMM) Inbound on Monday, September 04, 2023 in the HI Building hall. This event is a valuable opportunity for students from outside Metro to get to know Metro City and experience the quality of education offered by UM Metro.
Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Dr. Achyani, M.Si., was present to give a speech to the PMM3 participants. In his speech, he underlined the importance of PMM3 as a means to broaden students’ horizons and experience.
“This PMM3 program is a great opportunity for students to learn, exchange ideas, and interact with students from various regions. We hope this will be a valuable experience in character building and knowledge enhancement,” said Dr. Achyani.
In addition, on the occasion, Dr. Achyani also introduced Metro City to the PMM3 participants.
He explained that Metro is a relatively safe city from various crimes, but still reminded students to remain careful and maintain personal safety while in Metro.
Not only providing academic insights, UM Metro also provided culinary experiences to PMM3 participants in the form of Lampung specialty food, “Seruit,” which was served as part of their warm welcome. Seruit is a dish that is rich in flavor, combining a variety of traditional Lampung ingredients that are appetizing.
During the welcoming activities, UM Metro academicians and PMM3 inbound participants wore traditional clothes typical of their respective regions.
The spirit of cooperation between UM Metro and PMM3 participants is expected to enrich their educational and cultural experiences while in Metro. UM Metro would like to welcome and hope that the PMM3 participants will have an unforgettable experience while in Metro City with the slogan ‘Exchange While Meaning Forever!’
