UM Metro Rector: 2023 New Students Unite 10 Provinces and 4 Countries

Metro, August 30, 2023 – Dr. Nyoto Suseno, M.Si., Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah (UM) Metro, revealed that in the 2023/2024 academic year, UM Metro’s new students came from 10 provinces in Indonesia and 4 different countries. In the opening ceremony of the Student Ta’aruf Period (Mastama) this academic year, Dr. Nyoto Suseno warmly welcomed and gave views on the important role that new students will play in shaping a bright future.

With the spirit of internationalization increasingly instilled, UM Metro has succeeded in attracting students from various regions. This year’s admission not only covers various provinces in Indonesia, but also involves 4 countries, including Thailand, Nigeria, and Kenya. A total of 7 foreign students from these countries have chosen to continue their studies at UM Metro.

Rector Dr. Nyoto Suseno said, “We are delighted to announce the presence of our new students who come from 10 provinces and 4 different countries. This is a reflection of our efforts to create an inclusive and diverse educational environment at UM Metro. This diversity brings richness in worldview, culture, and experience, which in turn will contribute positively to the academic growth and character building of students, “he explained, Wednesday (30/8/2023).

Dr. Nyoto Suseno also highlighted the important role of students in the realization of the university’s vision to produce qualified national cadres as future leaders. He emphasized that education at UM Metro is not only about taking lectures, but also about shaping leadership values, ethics, and social responsibility.

With the presence of international students from Thailand, Nigeria, and Kenya, UM Metro opens a window for cross-cultural collaboration and aims to provide a broader and deeper learning experience.
