UM Metro Cooperation Center and KUI Introduce Metro City and Bandar Lampung to Foreign Students from Thailand

Metro, September 5, 2023 – The Center for Cooperation and the International Affairs Office (KUI) of Universitas Muhammadiyah (UM) Metro) held special introductory activities for four foreign students from Thailand who will begin their academic journey at UM Metro for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. This activity was held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, with the aim of helping international students adapt to the new environment in Indonesia, especially Metro City and Bandar Lampung.
Four foreign students who have just arrived in Metro City are very enthusiastic about starting their studies at UM Metro. To help them get acquainted with their surroundings, UM Metro’s Center for Cooperation and KUI organized an introductory city tour that involved visiting several points of interest and sampling local cuisine.
This city introduction tour activity was guided by Fenny Thresia, M.Pd., Head of the UM Metro Cooperation Center and KUI with the team. He explained that this activity was an effort to help foreign students adapt to Indonesia more quickly after leaving their home country.
“We want to ensure that international students feel welcome and comfortable during their time at UM Metro. By introducing them to the local culture and the beautiful scenery around the city, we hope they can feel more like part of the community,” said Fenny Thresia.
During the city introduction tour, international students visited several places of interest in Metro City and Bandar Lampung. They also had the opportunity to interact with local students and have an unforgettable experience.
This introduction is one of the first steps in preparing international students for a successful learning experience at UM Metro. UM Metro is committed to providing full support to international students so that they can reach their potential in a diverse academic environment.
